I've only had Vegemite, but I find it quite tasty....the key is to not put too much on yer bagel, bread, whatever. Its an aquired taste...I first tried it from an Aussie friend of mine, and she is the only other person I know that likes it. Yer Pal, Gel-Sol www.gel-sol.com
It's one of those foods that when you ask people they have either never tried it or have a very very strong opinion about. They either LOVE it or HATE it which in itself has spawned a great promotional campaign over here. You can even get a 'I LOVE' or 'I HATE' marmite T-shirt depending on your polarity. Pretty good campaign if they can even get those who hate the product to advertise it!!!
That's pretty clever. Since I've never had it before I guess I'll hold off on getting a shirt. If it's anything like vegemite I'm pretty sure I know which shirt I'd buy.
Marmite goes well; on toast, with cheese, fried eggs, making marmite swiss roll snacks (v cheap and v cool for a party). All young kids seem to smell of the stuff (and blackcurrant juice) and you can even get marmite flavour crisps now. If you have never tried it, go and buy a jar but then again,
I always thought that marmite was cool because it was, as the linked website above so eloquenlty states, a "by-product of the brewing process." Something about that appeals to me. I think I know a place I can get some.....I'll get the smallest size possible and see what's doing.
FUCK marmite, Bovril is far, far nicer and easier to spread
Bovril is new to me. One site said it was basically salty liquid cow or something along those lines. Sounds lovely!
OK, f'ing boring afternoon at work, back to the databases and maybe even some Orb?
You don't have too long until the end of the day do you? Hang in there!
