Sorry to blast the list with posts to old posts but... Terrence Mckenna: I love reading his stuff. Anyone who will INJECT thousands of micrograms of acid AND large quantities of Ketamin, and then go into an isolation tank for fifteen or more hours is either more advanced than us or a nutjob. You decide. I drove down to my parents' house for an early birthday supper and listened to a bunch of stuff I downloaded from Thrash's House of Poop (as I've named his server). This included some killer shit by Lemon Jelly and a ton of stuff from Plaid and some DJ Food. Tom Dissevelt is one artist (from 1957) that is mind boggling. There is one cut that sounds like Aphex Twin through a big, distorted reverb right at the beginning. Really out there, man. So thanks, Kwissy, for the sounds. It's four hours each way so I just ran out the cd-r of mp3s as I got back. Psychic TV is very variable. Allegory and Self is kind of done in the style of a pop album. All the songs are very short and done with a band. It's not incredible but several of the songs are extremely good. Lenny Kravitz: I fucking hate him. He is so derivative it makes me want to fucking PUKE. He's also a stinky little fucker. Steve Hillage was not the first person to use heavy delay at the end of his guitar fx. David Gilmour was doing it. Robert Fripp was doing it. Tony Levin was doing it (ok, different guitar but...). The thing is to find a good enough drummer to allow you to play guitar with a delay like that. It's tough especially if it's not a single slapback. Robert Palmer RIP -- A little note to all you aging rock and rollers: When they say "heart attack" when they're in their early fifties it usually means "too much cocaine." That shit's hard on your heart so get started stopping today! Your birthday present to me can be your purchase of my dark ambient album "Dream It Was Crazy" from my website below. Soon to include a cd-r of mp3s!!! www.psychicreform.com Change your mind. "I'm the commander--see, I don't need to explain--I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being the president. Maybe somebody needs to explain to me why they say something, but I don't feel like I owe anybody an explanation." -- George Bush
