Another good starting point is I'll Be Black - a nice collection of dub tracks selected by LX

Augustus Pablo- East of the River Nile. I believe it has some comments from the good Dr. LX in the liner notes.

The Mikey Dread album is African Anthem. I think he also sampled a few things from The Upsetter's Blackboard Jungle Dub.
Both are quality dub albums.
One of my alltime favorite dub albums is Pick-a-Dub by Keith Hudson. King Tubby's Meets Rockers Uptown is another classic.

OK, speaking of...I've been getting curious about older dub stuff, Orb influences, i.e. Mad Professor etc. Recommendations/starting points?

You're not movies.
Yer Pal, Gel-Sol
Hahaha!
I was checking out some new reggae releases the other day and saw Soom T listed on a 12" on Scotch Bonnet Records. That's about the only orb related news I have.
