In the first recording I was in Cherokee park (an Olmsted park) and it wasn't nearly as intense as I expected. In that one I was parked on a hill and a bicycle zooms past. In the 2nd recording I was in an open area with isolated big trees and it was incredibly loud. My truck was on the side of the road with the microphone set on the toolbox. At some point a car drives past. It gives you a good idea of how loud it was. just a follow up to the adrian sherwood question:: i completely love the man i'm a HUGE reggae dub fan he's the man behind: prince far I, creation rebel, dub syndicate, african head charge, tackhead dub syndicate OWNZ!!!! perhaps you should listen a couple more times whoever said they didn't care for the one album they have from them try "bed of roses" - absolute masterpiece!! fyi the "other main men" would be bonjo I with african head charge and style scott for dub syndicate ALSO check out adrian's SOLO album...."Never trust a hippy" ambient dub best ever NEED him to come to the usa in a non-tackhead fashion!!!!

hi folks, (this didn't seem to get through the first time, so second time lucky?). i didn't want to point fingers last night, as i didn't have all the details to hand, but as a few people are (quite rightly) beginning to do so: without getting into the long and boring details, this has happened as Koko asked for the date to be moved. as you may well be aware, this wasn't the first time - the original date was actually July 6th. as you can imagine, nobody involved with the orb is too chuffed about this, and they understand how pissed off those planning to go must be. however, on the positive side, September has the advantage that the show will not be restricted to an 11pm curfew (club NME runs from 11pm at koko every friday)... ...there may also be another UK date, outside of London, to coincide with this, but as nothing has been arranged / confirmed yet i'll have to keep you all in suspense until it's booked! cheers, --- Smiley __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? As Stringer mentioned, Rachel's site is a start but it does primarily cover the officially released material (including many promos). http://www.backsideoftheorb.com/index.php Lazlo's discog is far more complete but only up to Cydonia. hey now! since we're addressing some newbie questions i was wondering if anyone had a link or good mind to point out the different "versions" of orb albums/eps over the years i take a peak at say RMS STRINGER's awesome ftp and don't know what/where the difference lies in some of the different "versions" examples:: cydonia versions bikes and trikes versions FFWD versions etc.

Unfortunately our webmaster is away on holiday, and therefore we are unable to announce this on The Orb website so please forward this message to anyone you know who may have purchased a ticket that isn't on the list/digest. We have been informed by KoKo that all tickets for the 7th will be valid for 21st September or a refund will be available from the original point of purchase.
