I hate all that mushroom acid jizz stuff but I came across his "charged" album on slsk and it sounds ok. Sorta orbish at times, cuz good spacey bass lines. How do I know Bill's name? anyone? oh and what FSOL should I dowload since I NEVER got any, EVER. any one got the cd music with sound? are there any sample refs in the sleeve? wondering where the voice sample in beautiful state comes from?!! orb use loads of public works! they dont think much of the orb - how bizzare - - arrg was readin about it sumwhere but cant remember what site! umthing about them not being mentioned on the cd - and how their sound was used ! un altered ! or sumthin>?

Q-I was in Tower Records a couple years or so back when I actually heard the Tape-beatles playing. I asked the surly record store clerk type about it and his response was on the order of "Uh, wuh? Tape who? This is The Orb, dood." I'm interested to know how you felt being sampled, and whether The Orb asked permission? A-I had heard that the Orb had sampled us on one (or more) of their cds, but haven't actually heard the work. We were a bit taken aback that they had apparently (we were told) used our work with little or no modification (depending on how true what we were told is). But we're not upset about it; in fact we are somewhat flattered. We would have been happier if they'd turned it into something that obviously was taken from us, but was nonetheless The Orb's work. But we might be able to get some notoriety out of it anyway, somehow, especially if people like you make a big deal out of it in print. Does any one know the differences between the UK Promos for B&T? Looking at EIL there are e.g.: THE ORB Bicycles & Tricycles (2004 UK The Hexus 12-track promo CD-R acetate, custom printed disc + colour picture/tracklisting sleeve) EUR 37.00 / £ 25.00 THE ORB Bicycles & Tricycles (2004 UK 12-track promo CD, custom title/tracklisting insert COOKCD298P) EUR 29.60 / £ 20.00 The first one has - I think the same tracks as the Japanese (or very close to)? While the second one is different. Does anyone know what the actual UK release will look like?
