i'm actually going to mention something orb related... Accidentally listened to 'From a Distance' last night. That is the most worthless piece of shit song. I am thinking it must be a joke by alex to see if devoted anything orb does is good fans like it. The number of people raving about that song on this list when the album first came out astonishes me. I was looking forward to hearing it and was sick to my stomach after listening to it. I agree with Gee Strings as well, it just doesn't go anywhere. It doesn't seem to fit with anything orb, but it had promise if not just for a little funky track. A side note, from day one when I heard orbus terrerum, I was mesmorized by it. Had a good portion of my cds stolen while in New Orleans, one of said cds was Orb Live, disc 1. Anyone wishing to help me out, let me know. Already have disc 2, having a hard time finding just disc 1 for sale. Having withdrawal symptoms, its been over 1 year since we've been separated. One more side note, as difficult as picking a #1 orb song, majestic from U.F.Orb has always given me the chills especially the ending when it breaks down and builds back up when the beat kicks back in. thrash -the rest of the world hates America because they are envious of us -our freedom, our democracy, our innovation, our technology, our women -you don't have to have attended school with some interbred upperclass dick to get a good job -anyone that works hard enough in America can make it (if that's what they want) -you have the freedom to follow any religion or live any lifestyle you desire. -hey, it's far from perfect, there is still racism, a lack of respect for the environment and many other inequalities, but it's a darn site better than most of the rest of the world. -I'm fed up with everyone saying why didn't America come in and put a stop to this or change that, and then when we do we are accused of meddling in countries internal affairs. -I suggest you move Just a Blip to USA, tax revenues are down and we need your money right now to support our efforts to make a just and equitable world. Good >Christs fat cock! Funny you should mention that. None of my machines are midi-ed together so everything tends to slide around and then meet up again every once in a while. The delay is digital but it has analogue controls so no precision there either. Since it's just me playing five synthesizers, two cd players, a turntable, a mixer, and several fx units its kind of miraculous that it EVER gets synched together. I find the mix makes me dizzy and slightly naseous but throws a danceable groove at me about half the time. Maybe I just suck. The whole list needs to check out this recording called "Playa Hata" I made last week (http://www.ifpr.homestead.com/directory.html) Here's the description of the recording from my news page: A few days ago I was sitting here at my desk, listening to some little section of quiet music over and over when suddenly this singing voice reaches me. Justablip was taken offline big stylee two days ago We have our suspicions on what happened But you know I piss a *lot* of people off on the web So it could be any one of 65,536 reasons ($FFFF) We are investigating.. The site has now moved to hardcore servers So there is pretty much zero chance of it goin offline again At the moment we cant get in touch with our previous hosts So we are unsure whether it was hacked or whether they are just negligent The database wasn't backed up since about two weeks ago So we lost our forum and our users But .. To be fair, I'm not entirely sure I agree it should go in that order. Would you buy a house without seeing it? Buy clothes without trying them on, or at least knowing if they're your size? Would you buy a car without driving it? Would you marry someone without meeting them? Granted some of these are drastic examples, but the idea is the same. If you are going to invest in something, you should be able to sample it somehow before deciding, sight unseen (or in this case, unheard) whether to buy it! I dont think I should have to spend a money on something without getting an idea of what I'm in for. Its no reflection upon the orb (for the record, I own about 90% of it, and everything that I could find I purchased). I just think its reasonable for me, as the person about to pay $35, to listen to something a bit before I have to spend my hard earned cash on it. I would say that I have purchased a large portion of the things I've downloaded and liked. And things which I buy and don't like, I ultimately just sell, often at a loss. Just as the record label, or even the individual artist, is allowed to defend his rights and his money, so I am allowed to defend mine. It's in the consumer's interest to hear things prior to buying them.
