Re: M_Boats: Outboards again
Hi Do, Ran, .......... Sometime ago someone suggested using 1 quart oil containers as spare gas containers. The idea is: Small size - easy to store Light weight, while holding it during refueling. 1/4th the weight of a gallon container! Easy to pour into the Honda gas cap opening - a one handed operation. ............and whoever wrote in was saying it works nicely in rough weather too........... I have been using the one quart bottles for spare fuel for the Honda, and it works nicely, though I can't comment on rough conditions use. Connie
I remember the earlier posting and would like to try it. How do you "clean" the oil out of the 1 qt containers? Thanks Doug Kelch --- chbenneck@juno.com wrote:

Doug, A few tablespoons of gas does the cleaning very nicely. I tuck a few away for my "get home" reserve. Stan
Here is another idea on pumping gas to a small outboard. Use a fuel hose with a good bulb and cut off both end connections. Match the flow direction on the bulb and put suction into gas container and other end in tank opening. Squeeze a few times and you are done. I saw this in a sailing magazine and it works.
