Dave When the Pelican is in the slip I plan to have it setting on a float so it is out of the salt water. The float will be submersible and "float" and raise the boat out of the water when pumped up I know .....this is nuts but I want to eliminate my bottom maintenance expence. Jim. 3 or 4 Sage 17s are on lifts. The mechanical kind not the floating kind. Maybe make a scrap wood u that fits around the section of hull you want your cradle to go around, and spile it like fitting a plank, or screw on strips of scrap would whose ends just touch the laps…lots of ways to pull the shape off the boat itself. Thanks Dave I don’t think my floating dry dock lift will need bunks like a trailer. I think I can support the weight resting on the keel and have some uprights to steady it??? Not a rough ride like a trailer. My floats will be (4) 50 gal plastic drums which should give me 4x50x8=1600 lbs of lift if water is 8 lbs per gal……right? To lift the hull I plan to pump air into the drums and let air out to lower it. Jim. You don't want the entire boat weight to rest and be supported only by the keel. The boat weight needs to be shared 50/50 by keel and hull. :: Dave Scobie :: M6'8" #650 :: Baba 30 #233 DEJA VU :: former owner SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com :: former owner M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: former owner M15 #288 SCRED - m15namedscred.wordpress.com On Sun, May 28, 2023, 07:22 Jim Sadler <jimsadler@jascopacific.com> wrote:

I imagine other M15 owners can give you spacing and length for bunks on their trailers. Way easier to set up a lift trailer bunk style I would think...? There are units you can buy already fabricated - manual and/or electric operation - and just adjust the bunks to suit different hull types, though I don't know how pricey they are. I see them at people's docks on lakes around here for their ski boats, fishing boats, etc. cheers, John On 5/27/23 09:45, Dave Scobie wrote:

That exactly what I have in mind except my lift will be 4 50 gal plastic barrels that I pump air into to raise the M15 out of the salt water. I guess the keel can support the total weight. I plan to have upright to steady the hull.
