Hello Danelle- Glad to hear you enjoyed time with family. The keel width at its widest point appears to be 4 3/8" (four and three eighths inches). Depending on where you measure on keel (keel is slightly tapered from top to bottom). I measured from approximately center of keel (fore/aft) and edge to edge width. It's a little difficult to place ones head directly under keel for an exact measurement, but I am very close with my measurements. I hope this helps. Carlos M17 #304 Hemet, CA
