Bill, I am currently out of commission with a healing hand I attempted to put through the band saw. It hurt so much I had pulled out the hand. Seven stitches, but very clean cut. I like sharp blades on the band saw. I will be restoring soon, just sanding and painting the mast right now. I never knew paints (2-part epoxies, primer and top coat) could cost so much. About half the cost of a new! -----fair winds. -------Larry M-15 hull #189 -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces+larry.hughston=dgs.ca.gov@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces+larry.hughston=dgs.ca.gov@mailman.xmission. com] On Behalf Of Bill Tosh Sent: Monday, October 03, 2005 3:40 PM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: M_Boats: new member Hey Larry,,,,,, Dreams will come true for you if you just keep workin on her.....it will be worth it....hang in there. I am now building on my 15th boat, but there was a lull after the 7th ......and during the lull about 10 years of dreams..........finally got back on track and really enjoy it......the M15 for me is an investment for my wife and grand daughter.....(and me).....I needed a good strong stable boat that I could launch and retreive easily with aging joints, and with plenty of cockpit room, and the 15 fits the bill......on all counts. OUCH !!!!!!! Remember your bandsaw is the "same" type used in a meat processing plant......and it doesn't know the difference between wood and meat !............. In 30 odd years, I have cut myself a few times too, and it was always when I got over confident or distracted for a split second.........everytime! Occupational hazard I guess..... Glad you only took seven stitches.......could have been a LOT worse..........I have seen thumbs and fingers laying on the saw table.........!.........(not mine thank goodness)...
