Hey folks. Not sure what else to call it, but my rudder has this brass donut shaped thing just above the water line. It's part of a system used to raise the rudder up a couple feet in shallow water. I'm (still) refinishing my rudder, and want to take it off if possible, to get a good seal around that hole. Ideas?
I believe you have a 2 piece threaded bushing. The two recessed holes at the flange use a tool with pins to rotate ( unscrew) the two halves apart. You will need to locate a tool to tighten / loosen the halves. Pittsburgh Adjustable pin wrench available at Harbor Frt. ($6.95). You may need one for each side of the bushing. Good luck, have fUn, go sailing! GO M-15 #330 ‘Cahoots’ Previous M-17 ‘Tiny Purple Fishes’ On Fri, May 2, 2025 at 2:11 PM Jennifer Wood < jennifer@buskersguidetotheuniverse.org> wrote:
