it's a bit unnerving the way the engine reeves up just before it stops when you run the fuel dry. I've gotten use to it, but there is probably less lubrication in there when it stops. That could effect long term storage. <<
Hi Rick.. I've always run my motors dry as well..the original Evinrude 8 and my Seagulls. The 'Rude manual suggests squirting Fogging Oil into the intake a few seconds before shutdown, until it quits. Also, spraying it thru the parkplug hole and giving a few pulls was suggested.
