Daingerfield Island Sailing Club (DISC) will be running its third annual Freeze Your Mast Off Regatta on the Potomac River at Washington tomorrow, although with the forecast for 54 degrees and winds around 10 from the south, not many masts will be in danger. The fleet consists of cruising boats racing under PRHF rules. I'll be sailing Lynne L (rating: 294) and hoping for the best. We're the smallest boat in the fleet by several feet, but don't always finish last. M-15 *Fionnula represented the **Montgomery fleet at the "It Ain't Football Regatta" on the **Neuse River again this year. The race is run out of Oriental North Carolina, which bills itself as the "Sailing Capital of North Carolina". The fleet included over 45 boats boats this year. For two years running Fionnula was not the last boat in.* ** *Winds were zero for the first hour of the race so parts of the fleet went backwards with the current. An hour into the race the wind quickly picked up to 9-10 knots. Mike, You have to tell me more about this Oriental event. I live in Atlantic Beach which by 5hrs by boat hrs and by 2 hrs by car.
