Hi Doug, Living in Mpls, Mn, I have traveled to and sailed the Apostles many times. It has mainly been chartering larger boats out of Port Superior which is just south of Bayfield. I have sailed C+C's, Catalinas, Pearsons, and an Island Packet through the charterhouse. When I found my M17 in 1996, it was in that area. My trial sail with her was in October (beautiful day) and sailed from Little Sand Bay on the mainland out to and around Sand and York Islands. The Apostles are absolutely beautiful and it is mainly sailboats in the area. Lots of anchoring on the lee sides of the islands and Bayfield has a quaint New England feel to it. Keep in mind you are dealing with lake Superior so watch the weather closely and the water is VERY cold. Have a great time, I may be up there second week of June.
