Re: M_Boats: Re: montgomery_boats digest, Vol 1 #172 - 3 msgs
Tod, What it looks like we are going to do is have a John Deere tractor lift the boat while we quickly paint the parts we haven't already painted. This sounds really scary but all the marinas are busy now and won't lift it and our garage is too full to fit the boat. I like your idea for the future, but we'll give the tractor a try. Friday's the day to do this, so I hope I have a boat left Saturday. Cherri ----------

Ha! I should've read your post first, Shawn.
Leave it to the British: a Junk Rig Association of all things!
Sure would be nice if some of you Montgomery sailors could take the time to write up some trip tales; I've read all the ones on the web page.
Cherri,
Regarding the cradle: my own personal inclination (pun not intended) would be to go with slings & blocking instead of a wooden cradle because it allows some adjustment in the support location and if oversized a bit is transferable to other boats such as the 17 :-)
