I have not had a wrap problem with mine, perhaps I'm lucky.I had Hooper's sand and paint the bottom of my M23 this spring, while they had the boat in the slings, they lowered the CB and gave it a look see.All seemed in order,Mine also has the wire rope and "D" shackle. I know Theo's M23 has the lazarette winch system like Sean's. Good luck with the repair and let us know how it all shakes out.
