Re: M_Boats: M15 bow eye addition
Hi John, What's the problem using the stem fitting on the M15 as your winch hook attachment point? If your trailer winch is located too low, a quick trip to a local trailer shop will take care of that. They can add a foot or more to the winch post, and that will provide you with a horizontal pull. I had a Trailrite trailer for my M15 - LEPPO, and never had a problem using the stem head fitting for the winch hook. Connie
Can't say it's a problem, just a feeling that it could be better. Of course, a smaller hook (or other arrangement) on the end of the winch cable could go a long way towards soothing that feeling, but for some reason I've never thought of that until this moment. Must be because I'm a governement employee and am no longer use to thinking. The winch post height is fine, but the corners of the post have split from rust, and the trailer needs other work as well (in addition to titling and licensing). This is the Zieman trailer that came with the 15's in the mid-to-late-80s. ~ John Tyner M-15 #412 "Chimpanzee" -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces+tynerjr=md.metrocast.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces+tynerjr=md.metrocast.net@mailman.xmissi on.com]On Behalf Of chbenneck@juno.com Sent: Saturday, February 10, 2007 2:28 PM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: M_Boats: M15 bow eye addition Hi John, What's the problem using the stem fitting on the M15 as your winch hook attachment point?
