I am now the proud owner of M 15 # 343 and want to thank the group for all your comments regarding my "short list" of boats. My decision was narrowed down to just 2 boats and your insight led me to choosing the M 15. Although I haven't sailed her yet I am extremely pleased with what I know of the boat so far - trailering, contruction quality, looks, etc. So, a big THANKS!!! for your help. I have removed the old registration numbers but a glue residue remains. Does anyone have a suggestion about a cleaning agent or method for removing the gooey stuff? Thanks, Jesse Tate 1986 M 15 # 343 Carolyn J
Hi, Jesse Just today went through a similar process. BuscaBrisas lost her mailbox lettering and now sports (as soon as I let it dry a bit more) nice pretty matching blue semi-caligraphic lettering for her name and smaller block lettering for her hailing port. Ordinary wax lifted off the sticky residue and then, since I was putting on the new lettering, I used some wax remover (acetone or ammonia or windex will work) before applying the new lettering. The last time this topic came up, the suggestion was to use spray-on oven cleaner. It worked for me. Howard On 5/4/03 5:31 PM, "Jesse Tate" <gunsblazing@charter.net> wrote:

One more goo solution: I've used lacquer thinner on my M15 on the gelcoat with no problem to clean off cetol, caulk and other stuff, including number goo. --Gary Hyde M15 #235 'Vanilla' On Sunday, May 4, 2003, at 03:31 PM, Jesse Tate wrote:
