Re: M_Boats: M15 Tiller
Hi Rich, Thanks for the confirmation. My latest version is an upgrade from my first test tiller extension. I determined I wanted the forward end higher to make holding it easier. My new version is hollowed out on the bottom side to fit the top surface of the original tiller. It is cut at an angle so the forward end is higher. I installed a pin that fits in the Forespar Tiller Extension fitting in the tiller. The pin does two things for me. It prevents the tiller extension from rotating around the existing tiller, and it provides a fixed length extension so that when I start applying some pressure to the tiller it isn't going slide / rotate / or do other strange things when I least want it to. I hold it in place using a Velcro strap at the aft end. With the tapered tiller extension, I can apply the Velcro around the tiller and the extension and then slide it forward so that it holds the extension tightly, but I am still able to take off the extension in a few seconds if need be..........
