Re: M_Boats: Mounting a Solar Charger on an M-17
You might try a RAM ball mount off the transom - easy to adjust for max exposure - removable and out of the way. Check GPS City they are a big seller of RAM mounts. I have used the previous version of this panel (Solarex MSX10 L) it appears BP is the owner of the company now -- my current one is 12 years old on a 5 year warranty! - battery stays at 100% charge, we are able to walk on it sit on panel etc. - Not permanently mounted- sits on deck forward of companionway hatch port side. (have one left in box unused in garage to replace when needed) there is an aftermarket regulator attached at the panel leads - don't remember the type right offhand. _http://shop.solardirect.com/product_info.php?cPath=23_161_165_194_259&produ cts_id=1178_ (http://shop.solardirect.com/product_info.php?cPath=23_161_165_194_259&produc...) Good luck GO
