I've been through hundreds of locks in Holland, Belgium, and France, but this one is the strangest one I have ever seen. Go to GOOGLE -> YouTube -> "Falkirk Wheel, Central Scotland" Watch the YouTube video and enjoy a wild ride. Connie

This is amazing...and very clever! Ironically, I'm going to Scotland on Wednesday...had no idea! We're renting a camper van for part of the trip but if I'd know about the canals I might have lobbied for a canal boat... I do hope to connect with some Scottish sailors and maybe even get out on the water somehow somewhere. cheers, John S. On 07/31/2016 09:30 AM, Conbert Benneck wrote:

Before leaving the airport, go to the newspaper stand and ask for a sailing magazine, or two... That should give you some leads of who to contact; and where. Ask your hotel concierge; if he isn't a sailor he'll probably know someone who is, and who can supply you with more information. In Europe concierges are fonts of knowledge, and can open many a closed door for you. Have a great trip. Connie PS John I just went to: "scotland, boat rental places" and a large number popped up. Happy hunting.
