Re: M_Boats: Re: Whisker pole
I have a small, adjustable whisker pole, 4-8', that I like very much. Seems like it was about $70 from West Marine. I use it a lot, even up to a beam reach, but running wing and wing is where it shines brightest. I've used my adjustable boat hook as a whisker pole. I can wedge the hand end against the hatch cover tracks. I'm thinking about buying a real whisker pole and mounting the attaching eye on the mast for my new 150 genny (seems like i'm constantly drilling new holes in the boat). Any suggestions?
what length whisker pole do i need for the m17? can anyone recommend a specific brand?
Craig, mine is a telescoping Forespar. Don't know what the model is but it goes from about 6'-11' or so. The only complaint I have with it is that the telescope seems like it would be easier to adjust the length of it if it were swapped end for end, but they all seem to be like that.
