After many unknown years and some hunting for missing parts I have M6'8" hull 650 once again sailing! Friends Stan Susman, Gary H. Oberbeck, Marty Loken and Jerry Montgomery helped out a lot. Took a three hour shakedown first sail. No surprise and she sails GREAT! Nice Dave!, Where did you get the lee board bracket I know you were asking me about the one I used on my Naples Sabot. Jim On Mon, Aug 2, 2021 at 5:22 PM Dave Scobie <scoobscobie@gmail.com> wrote:

Jim: Found a complete Sabot leeboard assembly a Minney's Yacht Surplus in Coda Mesa, CA. They were really helpful, sent many pictures to confirm everything and shipped to me in WA. I tried two places in San Diego. San Diego Marine Exchange had nothing used and new parts on a 6-8 week backorder. The second place in San Diego wouldn't work with me at all to exchange email attachments to confirm parts (worried that I was a faker and sending him malware) and also wouldn't ship, accept a credit card or even a check!!??!! Amazing little out there for the leeboard bracket assembly. Rudder - easy. Leeboard (the wood bit) - easy. Even a full standing and running rig - easy. Found it very weird and frustrating. :: Dave Scobie :: M6'8" #650 :: SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com :: former owner M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: former owner M15 #288 SCRED - m15namedscred.wordpress.com <<-- new site! Cool, Minney's is an institution in Orange County, selling all sorts of used yachting equipment from fasteners, to rope, anchors, and used sails as well as used boats. Glad you were able to get the parts you needed! Jim On Mon, Aug 2, 2021 at 6:18 PM Dave Scobie <scoobscobie@gmail.com> wrote:

That's great Dave! A very satisfying feeling to restore something as fine and as useful as that. Well done. Mark Dvorscak Working on trailer restoration for M15 On Mon, Aug 2, 2021, 17:22 Dave Scobie <scoobscobie@gmail.com> wrote:

Seeing your pic takes me right back to childhood adventures in a dyer dink, exploring the back bays, checking out all the boats at anchor and I realize now, giving my parents a few hours of freedom. Here’s to simple little sailing dinghies and the adventures they enable! Alex On Mon, Aug 2, 2021 at 5:22 PM Dave Scobie <scoobscobie@gmail.com> wrote:

Forgot to say...congratulations!! Hard to imagine 3 hours in such a small boat, about two is the most I can manage comfortably in my 8 ft. El Toro #769. But then I'm 6' 3", maybe you're a bit more compact... :-) And, I can relate to the joy of getting her sailing again after all that effort. I took several years in fits and starts to rehabilitate my old wooden El Toro. It was quite a rush to cast off the dock and feel her catch the wind again for the first time in many years! cheers, John On 8/2/21 5:21 PM, Dave Scobie wrote:
