I have a 3hp Johnson 2 cycle on my boat. The PO said it was a long shaft and I don't doubt it, but I have a question. My outboard measures 22" from the mount to the center of the prop. If this is a long shaft, what is the length of the short shaft? I have fixed motor mount so anything less than 22" might be a problem. Do the lift up type motor mounts allow one to use a short shaft motor by positioning it lower to the water? Thanks, Rick Langer M15 #337
