North Carolina Sailing_Invitation to the Albemarle Sound
Only 20 miles south of the Virginia border the Albemarle Sound area offers some of the best small boat cruising in the North Carolina. I am planning a 2-3 day shake-down cruise there in mid-May and invite Monty owners to explore the area with me. Distance sailed each day would be between 12 and 18 nautical miles. Trip would include a stop at one of 3 historic sea-towns that offer free dockage for small boats. Final route would be contingent on wind direction. With three North-South rivers to choose from and the East-West orientation of the Albemarle a trip for all conditions can be planned.
