For Jerry Montgomery: Jerry, way back in August of 1998, you responded to a message from Connie regarding water leaking in on his M15: You wrote: "it could be leaking thru the joint between the deck and the top of the cb trunk. If you have any hints or suggestions for repairing this joint (as you intimate in your note) I'd be really grateful to hear them. Thanks for your help! Steve McClellan M15 #152 Chicago Area
Ccut away the top of the liner that covers the joint; the part that comes up from the cockpit sole. This will expose the joint between the deck and the cb trunk, where the leak probably is per your description. A carburundum disc, about 3", mounted on a mandrel and turned by a fastish drill motor will do the job, but be careful to not cut too deeply or you will saw off the top of the trunk. Sand everything smooth, fill all voids with epoxy putty, and wrap neatly with fiberglass cloth and EPOXY resin- not polyester. Epooxy sticks much better to old fiberglass. Have fun.
