Hi Jim, I have driven by Winnebago several times but have not sailed it. It is a fairly large body of water and the fetch from wind and waves could be high depending upon conditions. For a smaller body of water you could look at Lake Butte des Morts by Oshkosh that offers some areas for gunkholing or Lake Poygan. My DeLorme shows multiple boat ramps. Have fun, be safe.
