Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what is lacquer thinner?
Lacquer thinner is a solvent for thinning/applying lacquers and lacquer based paints, and is much, much stronger than paint thinner. It has the advantage of not leaving behind an oily residue, and evaporates quickly. It has the disadvantage of dissolving many plastics, stripping some paints/coatings, and should be tested on a *very* small and invisible area first!! Acetone usually much more Fiberglas and gel-coat friendly than Lacquer thinner. It is comprised of such nasties as Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Toluene, Xylene, and several other non-pronouncables. Wear gloves, and don't inhale. You don't want to end up like me! Scott Grometer, M15 #478 'bebe'
