I've not sailed but driven buy many times and note the following - How is the water level? Very low in San Luis last time I went buy. Not much boat traffic - I can't say I've seen a sailboat on the lake. I've camped many times on the shore at O'Neill at Medeiros Campground. The lakes are is right next to Coast Ranges so the pressure & temp differences between the Pacific side and the valley means the wind BLOWS! I mean really SNORTS!
