Re: M_Boats: Hoist Launching an M-15
BODY { font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12px; } Mark: I launch an M15 with a hoist and hook. I made a bridle with a ring to lift the boat into and out of the water. Murray. Does anyone have experience in hoist launching a Montgomery that they would be willing to share? Thanks! I'm waiting for Jerry to talk about using the chain plates to lift the M15..... t
I've built some M_15s with a proper set up for single point Yacht Club Crane launching..... I prefer to add 2 padeyes, one on each side, thru bolted aft of the normal chainplates. These are big enough to clip a carabiner on (the eye is large) and we use a rope bridle with a large O for the cranes hook. We attach to both aft mounted padeyes and at the stainless bow cleat. (3 point). Look at this photo of Anne Bonny, an M_15 we built for a customer who needed an extra set of Rudder Gudgeons, so he could steer the boat under a low bridge before raising the mast on the other side; and if you look at the caprail you can see the thru-bolted Padeye for his Yacht Club, singlepoint rope bridle. http://www.montgomeryboats.com/photodym.php Fair winds Bob (949) 489-8227

Tom- remember to not put the kitchen sink in the boat when lifting! Has the ice broken up around there yet? You won't believe this, but we actually had snow here last Tuesday. You know it's summer though because it didn't stick... t On Sun, Jun 15, 2008 at 7:48 AM, jerry <jerry@jerrymontgomery.org> wrote:

Well now Gary, we all know Pullman isn't nearly as temperate as Fairfield. I'm not surprised your snow stayed a while... t
Tom, Is that Fairfield, Idaho? Ian
