Folsom Lake sailing, reply to Larry H.
I did sail Folsom Lake, No. CA on 5/17 or 5/18. That morning I saw a forecast for 12-20 MPH winds with gusts to 30 MPH. Arriving about noon, the lake had many power boats enjoying the day. I decided to maximum reef which I had never tried. It worked great on the lake from 1:00-3:00 PM. Only once, due to a brief gust did I do a "round up" with the small sail areas. It was a blast! Of course the winds and white caps cleared the lake of all power boats, so I was the only vessel on the sea! At about 3:00 PM, the wind died back to the about 8-12 and I went to full sail area. The only thing that I missed were some Monty buds. My fault, for short notice. We'll have to plan a day with the local Monty folks! Bruce King Fair Oaks, CA '84 M15
