My father-in-law is giving me his Montgomery 17, which has been out of the water for ten or twelve years. I’ve sailed but never owned a boat, so this should be interesting. There’s a bunch of refitting to do but it is mostly quite sound. I’m sure nearly everything I’lll want to know is in the list archives so I have some reading to do, but wanted to say hello. We are in Tucson; not a sailing mecca but within reach of Mexico and Southern Cal. and a few lakes. I learned to sail long ago around Oxnard and Ventura in California.
Congrats! If you are up to it visit the Mboaters at the Wrinkleboat Ran-Tan on Lake Pleasant AZ weekend after next (MLK weekend). Jerry will be there so you can talk talk with the guy responsible for and built the boat. http://wrinkleboat.webs.com/ :: Dave Scobie On Jan 8, 2016 11:05 AM, "David Rifkind" <drifkind@acm.org> wrote:

I had to look up ran-tan and now I’m not sure—you guys may be too rowdy for me. But I’ll give a try. Thanks!
Gary in the only one who is rowdy- the rest of us are perfect gentlemen (and ladies). -----Original Message----- From: David Rifkind Sent: Saturday, January 09, 2016 2:20 PM To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats Subject: Re: M_Boats: Hello Folks On Jan 8, 2016, at 11:18 AM, Dave Scobie <scoobscobie@gmail.com> wrote:
