Hi Bill, The story I have heard about the original M-23 deck and coachroof was it was designed for maximum interior cabin headroom. That it does. My M-23 has 5'7" of interior height. However, the trade off was narrow side decks for walking, high windage, and blocked forward view from the cockpit. I also heard Jerry was somewhat unhappy with the top deck and the original mold has been destroyed. These factors have not affected me. I do not have stantions on the side decks which allow for more footroom. The interior of the M23 is fabulous for a boat of that size. No complaints from this owner. Bones
