Hello fellow Monty owners. After many years at the helm of Sonsy, my beautiful 1966 Alberg 30 I decided to sell her. I'm 64 and have MS, she became too much for me to keep up. I'm not finished sailing so I started looking at micro cruisers that I can keep it on a trailer. I started researching. The Montgomery 15 won out. I recently purchased a 2007 hull # 641. She is a beautiful boat with a black hull. The boat didn't Have a name on her so Dark Star is her new name. I'm in Rockport, Texas where the wind blows nearly all the time. I'm really looking forward to getting to know this beautiful little girl. Tim Erwin #641 Dark Star Rockport, Texas
Tim, Welcome to the group, and may you have fair winds with "Dark Star." I believe that you will love sailing her. I too downsized from larger boats and am happy I did. I keep "Spirit" in the garage where I can poke around and day dream between sails! By the way, where will you sail her most often in your neck of the woods? P.S. Spirit is also a M15, and from the hull numbers, it appears that she and Dark Star were built at around the same time! P.S. What was I thinking? Of course you'll be sailing her on the gulf! I must have been thinking of Round Rock when I first read your e-mail.
