After a month living out of the boat on the road and a lot of sailing use this summer, it's time to recover the cabin and cockpit cushions in our 1986 Montgomery 15. I am not sure the upholstery shops in Bishop are adequately experienced and able selecting coverings and doing boat reupholstery, so am hoping to find a good place somewhere in California or Nevada that regularly does this sort of this where I could take the cushions. Would anyone in the group suggest a place to do it? It would be great to hear any experiences you have with going or having this sort of work done as well. Thanks! I don’t know about upholstery, but Eddy’s Upholstery in Bishop has made beautiful Sunbrella custom boat covers for my (former) Nor’Sea 27 and Montgomery 15, and custom boom covers and jib bags for both boats and a Potter 14 as well. The Potter boom cover looks as good as it did when they made it 35 years ago.

David, I used to own a Monty 15 which I sold a couple of years ago. I went with a powerboat as I live in Sacramento with a good river. When I bought the powerboat, a C-Dory 22, I had an enclosure made for the cockpit in the back. They did a great job using stainless steel ribs and Sunbrella material in the color of my choosing. The business name is Valet Storage at 2701 5th street just of Broadway here in Sacramento. Steve Charday is the owner. Look him up on line. -- Larry Hughston Ps, there is also a good boat mechanic available at the same location if you ever have the need for engine work. They are BT Marine.
