Just got back from a week of sailing along Catalina Island. Great sailing at tims but a lot of motoring in very light winds. Did see some tall ships, a lot of porposes and met some good people from the Lake Pleasant Sailing Club. The next stop is the small craft Cruiser Challange next weekend at Monterey. After that I hope to sail on San Francisco Bay for a few days. Anybody free to buddy sail next week on the bay or know some good sailing spots? John Edwards Miss T M17 # 372
John, I won't be in the Bay area but I have a suggestion for your next stop. If you head north on I-5 into Oregon you could make a stop at Fern Ridge Reservoir which is West of Eugene, Oregon (you would be at the launch ramp 20 minutes after you exit I-5). There are at least 5 M17s at Richardson Park Marina and we could have a pretty nice little Monty Rendezvous without much effort at all. Let us know if that might be a possibility and a date that you could make and see what happens. Hello John, We will be on "hula pie" at Marina Bay Yacht Harbor, Richmond, CA, F-Dock #137 from about noon on Tuesday July 22, plan to sail all day the 23rd and 24th then leaving that evening. Marina Bay is the perfect M-17 Marina, just be sure to tie up with your bow to the south if no upwind slips are available [doubtful]. Excellent ramp, guest and fuel docks, store, hot showers, laundry, security, park and Bay Trail. Sailing options are available here even if it's over 25 knots in the center bay. Let us know. 530-265-8014 Ron and Cathryn Goodspeed 1974 M-17 "hula pie" #025
