RE: M_Boats: Great Lakes water levels
wahoooo! Thanks Bill! I guess my dire mood with regard to apparent Lake Michigan water levels was unwarranted--I didn't realize there was such a large yearly fluctuation. Right NOW the level appears very low. Craig -- where on Lake Michigan do you sail? (I can't find you in the MSOG owners list.) -- Steve McClellan 1981 M15 #152 Chicago Area
An article in the May issue of Soundings reports that predicted summer levels will be above July 2001 by the following amounts: Superior - even Huron & Michigan +9 inches St. Clair +4 inches Erie +7 inches Ontario +6 inches

Steve, I need to put all my personal information on the MSOG owner's list (I'm procrastinating, partly because I can't think of a name for my boat). I have '84 M17 hull number 389 and usually sail her out of Lake Macatawa in Holland, Michigan. I haven't been over to Holland to look at my Macatawa (public) launch site this spring, but in the past, even with the lower level, the ramp was steep and, although hard on the transmission, had plenty of depth to launch. I'm considering a mast-up boat cover because my launch site has trailer storage across the street and the crossing is unimpeded by phone lines, power lines, or low branches: I'm envisioning a carefree drive to Holland with no boat in tow, hooking up the trailer, pulling off the cover and, voila, she's ready to float. The on-trailer storage is, obviously, cheaper than a slip, but a bit more hassle. I like the idea of not having the hull soaking in the water all season. I REALLY like the idea of not having to tow the boat to the lake each time I sail . . . --Craig ----- Original Message ----- From: <stevemc35@attbi.com> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 10, 2002 1:11 PM Subject: M_Boats: Great Lakes water levels wahoooo!
