The Mast also appears to be an odd shape with a flat face to the aft direction. Is your mast "Jerry M" original? --- Is your M-17 "original"??? ---Larry in Old 189 from Sacramento..... Larry, Yes, the gooseneck is fixed - with stainless steel rivets - The mast is a 'pear shaped' section from Ballenger Spars - flat on the aft edge with radiused corners - _http://ballengerspars.com/Extdwgs/4026.pdf_ (http://ballengerspars.com/Extdwgs/4026.pdf) Mast is NOT original (gave original and pack rats living inside to PaintBoy) - M-17 was changed to a 'tall rig' when the spar was replaced - (I live in AZ and light air predominates - heavy air handling has not been compromised in my experience to date). Rudder is a non-stock item - fiberglass -VERY heavy but straight and of almost identical surface area as original. Boom and mainsheet are non-original but same dimensions as 'stock' with homegrown 'silly' modifications Ballenger is interesting site - they are not far down the road from you I believe ... _http://www.ballengerspars.com/index.html_ (http://www.ballengerspars.com/index.html) Have a great day, Have Fun, Go Sailing ! go "OhhhhBoy!" M-17 # 316a 'that ain't bad gelcoat -it's "patina"! Team Geezer Racing.....Old and in the Way
