Hi all, I've been a lurker on this list just absorbing information and think that I really like the M boats. I would love to see one up close and preferably in the water. An M15 is probably more realistic for me than an M17 but I'll take whatever anyone is kind enough to let me see. I live in Morristown, New Jersey (north central part of the state) and would be willing to drive a reasonable distance like maybe a couple of hours to see a boat. I'm not ready to buy yet - just looking, so wouldn't want to get anyone's hopes up if they're thinking of selling. Thanks in advance, Andre Casanova
Andre, I am only 1 to 1.5 hours away, at Lake Wallenpaupack, which is off route 84 in the Poconos. The lake is 13 miles long and 1.5 miles wide. I am putting the boat in my slip tommorrow but unfortunately will be traveling 4 of the next 5 weeks. If you email me a phone # I can call you to sail next week some time in late afternoon or early evening, otherwise it will be mid June. I have had several boats in the 26' range and now am more than happy with my little 15' yacht. It all depends what you want out of sailing. I have pulled the boat out of the lake on a Tuesday night, parked at my house for the night and then pull it up to Lake Ontario for a day sail on Wednesday, sailing 1/2 way across the lake and turning around, then trailer the boat back home before dark. I have owned the boat for 5 years and have done nothing to it other than clean and wax it once a year. I had a 26' boat in a slip in the Chesapeake that I used about once a month. My 15 footer is used twice a week when I am home.
