Is the rudder pintles strong enough to put the motor bracket on the rudder, for better steerage, I heard someone had put a boarding step on the rudder so maybe its strong enough??
I believe it would be strong enough for a little motor like the Honda 2hp. But wouldn't that make it impossible, or at least difficult, for the rudder to kick up if you needed to in shallow water? Or is that not an issue where you dock? -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of MC Carpenter Sent: Friday, October 31, 2003 5:21 PM To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats Subject: M_Boats: gudgeons and pintles Is the rudder pintles strong enough to put the motor bracket on the rudder, for better steerage, I heard someone had put a boarding step on the rudder so maybe its strong enough?? _______________________________________________ http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/montgomery_boats
