Re: M_Boats: New Cushions?
Scott The new set of vinyl cushions were paid for by me weeks ago; in addition to the the original set of cushions that are in your boat now. Those free replacement cushions are in the next 17 going to the Bay Area next friday. No charge. You are a person that is never happy. I have bent over backward (in the Grand Scheme of things) paying for and assuring the correct foam is in stock at the cushion maker; paid for a new set and all I get from you is petty little girl whining. You're going to have to wait a few more days and suffer with the already upgraded cushions you originally picked out. (that are in your boat) Boxing and shipping cushions by truck doesn't work. I'am not going to bend them and stuff them in a box; they are going by boat, nice and flat. We busy as can be; our backorders are practically caught up and we are building plenty of new boats. You assume much. Maybe you should........you know..... wait to talk to me in person. Don't be afraid. -----Original Message-----

Bob, This is no "prompt": If you are unable to pay your supplier for a simple set of cushions, how can you say you are actively in business? In the grand scheme, the cushions are a petty issue. But they are an indication of how you negligently operate on a grander scale. Keep spinning. It won't be me or Jerry putting you out of business- look in the mirror. Hey folks, This needs to go off line. I don't believe it ever should have been on the list to start with. Steve On Oct 6, 2007, at 10:36 PM, Bob Eeg wrote:

It would be very interesting indeed if all of Bob's customers were to reply honestly and without fear of retribution to questions like: 1. Was your boat delivered on time? 2. If your boat was not delivered on time, how much time elapsed between the promised delivery date and the actual delivery date? 3. If it was not delivered on time, were there changes you requested during the build process that might have extended the delivery date? 4. Was the quality of the boat higher, lower, or as expected, based upon the builder's descriptions and comparison to previously delivered boats? 5. If there were quality issues, were they resolved by the builder in a timely manner? 6. Would you do business with this builder again? 7. Could you recommend this builder to your best friend? And it would be interesting to know if Precision's, Com-pac's, International Marine's, and other boatbuilder's customers would answer similarly. I think these are fair questions. Should a builder's business practices be a secret? Or should they be openly known? Does the answer to those questions depend upon what those business practices are? Why? If I were a potential customer, I would certainly want to know the answers to those first seven questions. Certainly the builder shouldn't fear the answers. If he does, then that is very telling. The people doing the answering shouldn't break out in a sweat and wonder if they should consult an attorney before answering. If they do, then that too is very telling. Thank yoy Tod for this well thought out reply. There certainly are people whom have been lucky enough to have recieved their boats on time/ as promised. But the fact is there are many whom haven't.This IS a montgomery OWNERS list to talk about OUR boats..good/bad and ugly.....not a "montgomery builders site" I personally find it odd that this cushion talk is going on at all at this time.Bob knew there was a problem for over a year. When "finally" was finally delivered, her cushions had inferior foam that was literally multiple pieces glued together and the stitching in the fabric was already letting go.Both Rick and Doug seen it.I e-mailed pics to Bob..Bob's reply was "it was glued do to the high price of foam". I had a local sail shop cut them into 4 like Jerry did them to allow better access to storage and fix up the stitching while they were at it.I've lived with the glued foam pieces. Todd, I think these are good business like questions that anyone on the list could use.
