Hi Steve, I haven't sailed for about 8 years. Brynn is my 5th sailboat and I plan on putting her into the water next week for the first time. Weather, work, etc. have delayed this long awaited event. I have secured a slip at Lake Don Pedro Marina in the Sierra Nevada foothills about 40 miles from where I live in Turlock, CA. For those who are unfamiliar with Lake Don Pedro, it has about 160 miles of shore line and it sits at 840 feet of elevation when full. There are 3 marinas and a number of campsites as well. I've been lurking on this site for some time and enjoy following the discussions. Dudley Peterson M-15 "Brynn" #612
Dudley, I live in Mariposa. We should make plans to sail Don Pedro together some day. We might even invite other M-boaters to join us (but we should do it before it gets too hot). BTW, welcome to the group. Joe Kidd M15 #207 "Poco A Poco"

Hi Joe - Sounds like fun. Let me know when sounds good to you. Unfortunately, my schedule is a little hectic at present. Dudley Peterson M-15 "Brynn" #612 Turlock, CA
Ahoy Joe and Dudley, Would you mind having a17 for company at Don Pedro? Sounds like a wonderful place to sail. I do most of my sailing in San Francisco Bay but this year, I'd like to make it a point to do some fresh water sailing. Bob and Dudley, A Montgomery get-together at Lake Don Pedro is beginning to show promise. Lets set a time in early May and invite anyone who want to be a part of our mini-rendezvous to join us. The more the merrier... Joe Kidd M15 #207 "Poco A Poco"
Dudley, Our beautiful spring weather has Poco tugging at her mooring. These are perfect days for sailing. Why are we wasting them by working? I plan to go sailing at Lake Don Pedro tomorrow (Friday). Maybe you and Brynn can sneak away for part of the afternoon and join me. Joe Kidd M15 #207 "Poco A Poco"

I hope to launch "Brynn" for the first time this afternoon. I have secured a berth, number 177, and will leave her there for the rest of the summer. Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow, but plan on going sailing again on Saturday, God willing. Hope to see you there soon, Dudley Peterson M-15 "Brynn" #612 Turlock, CA
Dudley, Wow! Wish I could be there for today's christening. I'll look for Brynn in the marina tomorrow. BTW, beware of overhanging tree limbs in the parking lot when you launch. Unfortunately, my knowledge is gleaned from experience. Joe Kidd M15 #207 "Poco A Poco"
Dudley, I saw Brynn at the Don Pedro marina today. She is beautiful! I really like the green bootstripe. We definitely have to get together for some sailing and on-the-water pictures. Lake Don Pedro was almost ideal this afternoon. Bright sun, temperature in the low 80's, steady 10-15 knot breezes most of the afternoon, building to around 20 around 5 p.m. I just kept sailing and enjoying the ride, but by 6 p.m. it was time to head for home. Getting Poco back on the trailer in the stiff cross wind was definitely a singlehanders challenge. I was thankful for the trailer's vertical roller guides. Connie, My new topping lift arrangement works great. Once again, the KISS method works best. G'night, all. Time for a hot shower, some sunburn lotion and a soft bed. Joe Kidd M15 #207 Poco A Poco

Joe, Thanks for your kind words. I am very pleased with Brynn. Now I have to find a place to stow everything so that I can find it when I need it. Everything went smoothly at launching, except that I forgot to install my mast head fly. I had help getting her into the water and sailing. I don't think I would want to try it single-handed just yet! I'm not going to be able to make it sailing today, but you are sure right about how nice the weather has been. Hope to see you out there soon. Dudley Peterson M-15 "Brynn" #612 Turlock, CA
