The 3.0 amp charging kit seems worth the extra weight. It would be nice to keep the battery topped off when motoring.<<
How much do you motor?? I motor about 5 minutes at the start and end of my sail. If I had the alternator on my Seagull, it would add a bit to the battery, but (methinks) a solar cell would do it as well, and possibly cost a bit less. Less weight on the stern, at least <GG> Harvey/ Ga M-17 Stargazer #294
Hi Harvey, We often sail on the Columbia River, and that can mean some substantial time motoring. Downstream sailing is great, but getting back up river can be an interesting chore.
