Keith: The Sage 17 and M17 hulls are completely different. I'm not sure what you are referring to about the S17 hull design changing? The S17 trailers are custom with fixed bunks - meaning cannot be adjusted. Using a trailer set up for a S17 will cause damage to the M17 - I've seen this first hand! A Sage 17 'low rider torsion axle' trailer made with adjustable bunks will work - but you need a way to lift the boat so you can correctly set up the bunks (not hard and I've done it many times). If you need more details let me know. :: Dave Scobie :: M6'8" #650 :: SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com :: former owner M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: former owner M15 #288 SCRED - m15namedscred.wordpress.com <<-- new site! Hello all,
I’m planning on getting a new trailer fabricated by Pacific Trailers. It is my understanding that they made trailers for the Montgomery’s since the 1980’s, and later, also made the lower profile trailer for the Sage 17… when the Sage was re-designed, does anyone know if there any changes to the hull configuration? (I would like to order the newer, low profile trailer for my 1980 M17.) The rep at Pacific Trailers says to “his knowledge” there weren’t any changes. Has anyone changed out trailers for their Montgomery’s?
Thanks so much, Keith M17 Ginger Snap
