I remember Larry's shade / rain structure and really liked it. But for here in SoCal and other more hot and sunny areas a bimini that can be up while sailing is nice especially for long sails like the return from Catalina. I have one on the Monty 17 as well as the Scamp. The one on the Scamp is also the main support for the full enclosure. A simple canvas/sunbrella/tarp with tent-pole stiffeners that reaches just a bit outboard of gunnel to gunnel works best. Can be rolled and put below along the outboard edge of the vberth.
You can see examples of one I used on my M15, M17, and Sages 17/15/SC using the links below in my signature. yes used the same one on all five boat types.
There are also many examples on MSOGphotosite.com - look at the M17s as more examples there. A great example is the 'Conestoga wagon' style used by Larry Yake on M17 CORNDOG.
All the above are used only when at anchor/mooring/dock.
Need more details let me know.

Can anyone recommend an easy to install portable bimini for the cockpit of an M15 that is simple to take down, which collapses into something easily storeable underneath when not in use? Thanks!
