Ron, thanks for taking a moment to send on your congrats! My wife and I are semi-retired educators who escaped the metro Seattle area for a 'beach house' on Whidbey several years ago. Although she's a bit wary of joining me on the boat, it's her fault I'm sailing at all, as she purchased sailing lessons for me last summer at the Lake Union Center for Wooden Boats. We overlook and have dock access to Holmes Harbor, located just a mile by sea to Camano Island. I look forward to gaining some sailing skill and confidence during the remainder of the fall and again when spring arrives. At any rate, I know that I have a safe, seaworthy craft that I can stick with over the long haul. Thanks again for your e-mail! —Steve Pearse On Oct 1, 2007, at 11:47 AM, judy casino wrote:
Hi Steve,
Congratulations on becoming a Monty owner and welcome to the web group. You will get much pleasure from her. I recently purchased my second M 15. I owned one in the 1980's and sold her only because our family got larger and we needed a larger boat. Now that I'm retired and it's just Judy and me, I bought another one.
Do you live and sail on Whidbey Island? From photos I've seen, it's beautiful up there. You can plan sailing trips around all the San Juans and beyond. You'll have to keep us posted on your sailing adventures.
Regards,
Ron Casino M 15 #646, "Spirit"

Hello! I am now the proud owner of a 1981 (#163) M-15, purchased from a fine fellow and sailor, David Wood of Ashland, OR. David has certainly set me up for sailing success, as he not only patiently explained the ins and outs of M-15 rigging and launching but also did a beautiful job of restoring/maintaining my 'new' boat. I took her out for my initial sail in Holmes Harbor here on Whidbey Island (approx. 45 miles NW of Seattle) last Friday. What a treat!
I look forward to learning from all of you, re M-15 features/ capabilities and sailing/cruising tips. Cheers!
