I'ce been n a 17 in the Catalina channel (S. Ca) in waves higher than that but not as scattered. (42-50 knots). no real problems except we were airborn once when a wave higher than the mast came over on us. I was momentarily in fear of the rudder but no problem. That's one of the reasons I always carry a storm jib. You never know. jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Schinnerer" <john@eco-living.net> To: "For and about Montgomery Sailboats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, December 07, 2012 12:24 PM Subject: Re: M_Boats: Fw: THE COLUMBIA RIVER IN OREGON USA.
Who needs a surfboard when you've got a fishing boat? Hopefully they've got a lot of fish and ice in the hold to keep them upright...
The real question is, how would an M15 or M17 handle that? ;-)

This doesn't have much to do with sailing, but I enjoyed it! It must be in the pacific at the mouth of the Columbia. Incredibly long lense on the camera.
