Yes, The balboa 20 and Ensenada 20s were Lyle Hess designs. I owned Balboa 20 #76 back in the 70s when I had brown hair and three small children. Molly Grubble (a woman goes through the "Molly Grubbles" on a lunar cycle and the boat was my escape) made several trips to Catalina and Anacapa islands and was regularly trailered to San Diego for weekends. I towed her from So Cal to Philadelphia behind a 1973 Volvo 4 cylinder wagon and later to Salem Mass. Molly sailed in the Pacific, Chesepeake Bay and Mass bay/Atlantic. Alas, Molly secumbed to the outragous cost of living in the Boston area and was sold. Thus began my great respect for Lyle Hess designs. Ron M17 #14 (fin keel) Griselda
