Connie, Jesse, If I can add a line or two (1.5 cents)?? Connie's right about Goo Gone, we use it faithfully. We also use 'Goof Off'' for more challenging jobs (be careful, it'll mar/eat some plastics-test carefully), and another called 'Oops' that we get at Ace Hardware - which will remove dried latex paint - but is less agressive than 'Goof Off' (kinda in between). I guess they're all 'glorified' lighter fluid. Hi Jesse,
Glad to hear that things are going well and you are eagerly anticipating your first sail.
It takes a trip or two to get things sorted out, but as a former big boat sailor, you know that the pointy end is called the bow; the blunt end is called the stern, and you know about things like shrouds and sheets.
I use lighter fluid to get the goo off the hull; I've also tried acetone. Usually lighter fluid and some time works.
Another product that you might want to try is called "GOO GONE", which promises miracles, etc.
Connie
