David, To keep the sail in the track you need a sail track stop, which is a slug with a knurled nut to tighten it into the sail track. West Marine sells them for a few bucks. There were several posts on this topic just a couple of weeks ago. You put the stop in after the sail slugs are fed into the track, and it keeps them in the track until you release them.
